The New York Kathak Festival will take place at New York Live Arts, located at 219 W 19th St, New York, NY 10011.

The third festival was held at the Ailey Studios and Ailey Citigroup Theater at the Joan Weill Center for Dance in Manhattan, on August 22-24, 2025. Our guests of honor were Padma Shri Dr. Shovana Narayan and Sanjukta Sinha.

In 2020, we premiered HomeStages an online performance series curated by the New York Kathak Festival where global kathak artists invite us into their homes for intimate performances.
We weren’t able to gather in person in 2020 due to the global pandemic, so we brought the global kathak community together for an online festival.
The inaugural festival was held at the prestigious Ailey Studios and the Ailey Citigroup Theater at the Joan Weill Center for Dance in Manhattan, on April 19-21, 2019. Our guests of honor included Pandit Birju Maharaj and Vidushi Saswati Sen.
